The 3M™ Avagard™ CHG Wedge Bottle (500 ml) provides a rapid and effective hand antiseptic solution for surgical and healthcare personnel while being gentle on skin. Combining Chlorhexidine Gluconate (1% w/w) and Ethyl Alcohol (61% w/w) with a proprietary moisturizing lotion, Avagard™ delivers fast-acting antimicrobial activity and sustained bacterial growth suppression, while protecting skin health and hydration.

This FDA NDA-approved, waterless, brushless hand antiseptic kills a broad spectrum of microorganisms—including antibiotic-resistant strains—with over 99% effectiveness in just 15 seconds in vitro. Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) provides persistent antimicrobial activity for up to 6 hours, while emollients condition the skin to prevent dryness, cracking, and irritation.

Directions for Use – First Application of the Day

1. Clean under nails with an Avagard™ Nail Cleaner. No pre-scrub required.
2. Pump 1: Dispense 2 ml into the palm of one hand. Dip fingertips of the opposite hand into the prep, clean under nails, then spread over the hand up to just above the elbow.
3. Pump 2: Dispense 2 ml and repeat on the opposite hand.
4. Pump 3: Dispense 2 ml into either hand and reapply to all aspects of both hands up to the wrists. Allow to dry—do not use towels.
