Description
Emla® Cream (lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5%) is a topical anesthetic designed to temporarily numb the skin before medical procedures. This pack includes five 5g tubes of Emla Cream along with ten Tegaderm® dressings, which help keep the cream in place for effective absorption.
Uses of Emla Cream:
- Before needles or blood tests on healthy, unbroken skin.
- Prior to minor skin procedures or surgeries.
- Before specific vaccinations, including MMR, DPTP, Haemophilus influenzae b, and Hepatitis B.
- For short surgical procedures on the genitals.
- For the cleansing of leg ulcers.
How Emla Cream Works:
- Apply 1 hour before the procedure for best results.
- Numbing starts in 1 hour, peaks at 2-3 hours, and lasts for 1-2 hours after removal.
- Safe for children over 3 months, with numbing reaching peak effect in 1 hour

- Helps secure the cream for optimal absorption.
- Made from polyether polyurethane films and acrylate adhesives.
