Non-Bordered Soft Silicone Foam Dressing with Advanced Exudate Management

Mepilex® XT is a highly conformable, non-bordered foam dressing featuring integrated exudate channels that absorb both low and high-viscosity exudates. Designed to maintain a moist wound environment, it minimizes the risk of maceration and reduces pain and trauma to the wound and surrounding skin during removal. The dressing incorporates Safetac® wound contact technology and consists of a soft silicone layer, a flexible polyurethane foam absorbent pad, and a breathable yet waterproof outer film.

Instructions for Use:

1. Cleanse the wound according to clinical practice.
2. Dry surrounding skin thoroughly.
3. Select appropriate dressing size; cover surrounding skin by 1–2 cm for small sizes (up to 12.5×12.5 cm) or 3–5 cm for larger wounds. Dressing may be cut to fit wound shape.
4. Remove the first release film and apply the adhesive side to the wound.
5. Remove remaining release film and smooth the dressing on the skin. Do not stretch the dressing.
6. Fixate with a bandage or other appropriate method if necessary.
7. Change the dressing before it is fully saturated, at signs of leakage, or as per clinical protocol. Dressing interval may last several days.
8. Dispose of the dressing according to local environmental procedures.

Mepilex® XT is suitable for use in acute and chronic wounds across all healing stages, including leg and foot ulcers, pressure injuries, skin tears, and secondary healing wounds. It can be applied by laypersons under healthcare supervision and is ideal for patients requiring a gentle, high-performance foam dressing that supports effective exudate management and pain-free dressing changes.
